Keymultimedia, who have previously spoken, on behalf of the BID, at a Chamber business breakfast meeting have been working hard with the WeAreWeymouth team over the last few weeks to get ready for one of their busiest times of the year. The town is ready to receive thousands of holiday visitors and their digital presence is geared up for the busy season too.
Weymouth BID have been helped to develop a digital strategy that has grown their website traffic by 260% to over 40,000 visits per month since October 2015 and create a social media channel that regularly engages with over 50,000 local followers.
We Are Weymouth is the brand name that is used by Weymouth BID to promote the popular Dorset seaside town, famed for its golden sands, historic harbour and Georgian Esplanade
One of 270 BIDs throughout the UK, Weymouth BID is a business-led initiative that enables the local businesses to raise funding to improve the trading environment and attract new commercial initiatives.

We were invited to tender in October 2015 for an initial twelve-month contract to help We Are Weymouth develop their digital strategy. The BID already had a very strong brand in place but was finding that their online presence wasn’t achieving the results they had hoped.
Our brief was to turn those dwindling online figures around, and by establishing some challenging targets – put Weymouth on the digital map.
What We Did
Two years later and with a dedicated digital roadmap in place; a content strategy that focuses on user engagement; strict target reviews and regular project meetings, the We Are Weymouth online presence really has come in to its own.
Weymouth is a busy tourist destination and there is always lots happening in the town and surrounding area. So you can guess, this project is a very busy one with numerous campaigns running at any time.
With the BIG Christmas Ice Rink, New Years Eve, Weymouth Carnival, fireworks, Feast and even a dolphin being rescued off the beach making headline news – there is never a dull moment in Weymouth!
We’ve helped the BID team establish a robust content strategy that has ensured they get lots of great engagement on social media, website traffic that has increased month on month and significant first page search engine positions for key local search terms.
