Members – Do we need a new road to Portland? Please share your thoughts using our one-question survey, via this link: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/QT89JXY
The Jurassic Coast Highway (known by some as the Western Relief Road) is a proposed new road to the West of Weymouth that would link the A354 at Wyke with the B3157 Chickerell Link Road, bypassing the A354 through Weymouth. It is being promoted by a wide range of stakeholders as it has the potential to unlock significant opportunities that would benefit Weymouth and Portland, and Wider Dorset. A recent high level assessment by Dorset County Council based on economic factors alone found that the scheme was considered to be high value for money.
WPCC President Andrew Knowles will be attending a Jurassic Coast Highway Transport Conference, organised by Portland Port to discuss the Western Relief Road.
The WPCC Survey is showing approx. 66% for, 33% against. Andrew will present that business is in favour generally and seeks quotes from businesses to back this up.
