Lodmoor Country Park will be full of colour and lights on Saturday 8 September as part of the Dorset Neon Run in aid of Diverse Abilities, the Dorset charity that supports children and adults living with disabilities.
Those that sign up can walk, run, dance or skip around the 5k route and will be provided with glow sticks, bracelets and neon paint to help light up the night and glow as they go.
The Dorset Neon Run is open to anyone over the age of 12 and participants will also receive a branded event t-shirt with their neon bling.
On the night, there will be sizzling sounds for runners, provided by Wessex FM, as they register in the event tent and there will be a warm up with a clubbercise instructor, just before setting off to light up the night along the 5k route.
Lauren McCullough, events manager at Diverse Abilities, said: “We are encouraging local people to sign up, grab their headtorches and neon bling to light up the night while supporting many children and adults living with disabilities in Dorset. It doesn’t matter if you’re not a runner, the aim is to have fun and go at your own speed – and if that means walking that’s good with us!”
Registration for the event is £20 and all the charity ask is you raise what you can. To take part in the Dorset Neon Run or learn more about the evening, please visit www.dorsetneonrun.com/weymouth
