This event brings together a strong lineup of speakers covering issues that matter right now, from business crime and safety to fair trading and a proposal for the Weymouth Peninsula. If you want to stay informed, make useful connections and hear directly from influential voices shaping the local business landscape, this is an event not to miss.

We are delighted to welcome:

• Chris Legg, Senior Trading Standards Officer, who will be representing Dorset Council Trading Standards and speaking about their work with businesses across Dorset, with a focus on supporting compliance, promoting fair trading and helping to protect reputable businesses from unfair competition. The talk will also explore current areas of concern and how business feedback helps inform their work.
• Anthony Woodhouse, Chairman of Hall & Woodhouse, will speak about the company’s long standing connection with Weymouth and share its vision for a proposed investment on the Weymouth Peninsula. Hall & Woodhouse is an independent family owned Dorset business with nearly 250 years of history and deep roots in the town.
• David Sidwick, Police and Crime Commissioner for Dorset, will be joined by Inspector Hayley Crawford and Sergeant Ryan Corbett from Dorset Police’s Investigation and Resolution Team to speak about current action on retail crime and business safety, including how digital innovation is helping to tackle shoplifting and support businesses across Dorset. The session will also explore wider issues affecting local businesses and the role of partnership working in supporting safer trading environments.

Alongside the speaker programme, there will be plenty of time to meet other local businesses, catch up with familiar faces and make valuable new connections.

The breakfast is open to both Chamber members (at a discounted rate) and non members. Ticket prices include a delicious full English or vegetarian breakfast, along with hot and soft drinks, at Oliveto, the beautiful Italian restaurant on Weymouth beach by the Pier Bandstand.
