WPCC President Craig Oakes says “It is absolutely crucial now more than ever that we as those who run businesses invest in the generation coming through.
They are the future engineers, mechanics, doctors, creatives, entrepreneurs and even leaders of this country.
Many of them are also our children and we would’ve made them a promise at one point to give them the opportunities that they deserve to reach the pinnacles of their careers.
Pay it forward, choose employment, choose employment, choose apprenticeship, impart your knowledge and empower a generation, choose investment in your business to reinforce what you have built.
We are aware that this particular scheme beginning this week has a few hoops and it is not entirely clear how it works at the moment. We are looking into it further. The sentiment is the same though. There is a solid workforce in our youngest generation who can be trained directly with skill sets that will help build a sustainable economy in this Country.”
