Weymouth Civic Society is a group of people who are committed to increasing civic pride in our town, protecting its heritage and promoting its economic growth. We are known for our activity in town planning and for making awards to fine buildings and restoration. It is less well known that we manage the Nothe Fort and Tudor House, both highly successful enterprises in their very different ways.
Following the economic damage caused by Covid lockdowns, the Society is determined to assist the regeneration of Weymouth, Portland and the surrounding area by taking a hard look at the way our towns look and function. We have prepared a new 5 year action plan covering our programme of public meetings, campaigning and the management of our museums. We would like to increase our membership among the business people of the area to help us become more focussed on the issues you face and the priorities for action.
I attach a copy of our latest newsletter which illustrates a few aspects of our work and would like to invite you to join the Society. Annual membership costs £12 per person per year or £20 for a couple. We hope you will see this as a good investment in the future of our town.
If you would like to join, please email info@
Thank you for your time and we hope to see you at one of our meetings when we are free to open again
