May Breakfast meeting success

On a beautiful sunny morning we just managed to squeeze 50 attendees into the Taste Cafe on Chesil Beach for the monthly WPCC breakfast meeting. Fortunately there was plenty of room to gather in the reception area for much networking over coffee.

Our sponsors Wessex FM were represented by their Managing Director Rick Simmonds, who gave an excellent audio visual presentation on advertising tactics for every business. The main message being don’t throw everything you do at your potential customers, show the specific benefit for them, and Rick made an attempt to visually demonstrate this by hurling five oranges at one person knowing the chances are you’ll catch one! Though not carried out the metaphor stuck!

Brian Cooper from Resort Marketing presented on the many business benefits and indeed the benefits for the area of the Dorset Seafood Festival on July 13th and 14th. Brian emphasised the interest this brings from Chefs visiting, the eager sponsors and the thousands of visitors.

Gareth Holford informed everyone of the courses at the College forming part of the Weymouth and Portland Festival of Business and the links are available under the links on our website here.

Finally Cherise Luke-Bennett from Nantes announced that they were sponsoring the Charity Business Volleyball Tournament on 25th July on Weymouth Beach. This is a great event for business teams of 6 to enter (£80) and enjoy terrific social fun without being any good at volleyball! See our members news here
