Quarterly Economic Survey

Quarterly Economic Survey (QES) with Dorset Chamber of Commerce
The British Chambers of Commerce Quarter 4 of the Quarterly Economic Survey (QES) is now open. This is the largest and most representative independent business survey of its kind in the UK. Have your say on the current business climate. Take the survey here.

The short survey that makes a massive difference to the future of Dorset businesses and the local economy

 The Two Minute Business Survey
Businesses are questioned on a wide range of issues, including home sales and orders, export sales and orders, employment prospects, investment, recruitment difficulties, cashflow, confidence and price pressures.

The QES is the first published economic indicator of each quarter, published in advance of official figures and other private surveys and consistently mirrors trends in official data.

The national survey is supplemented with specific questions for Dorset businesses on the issues and challenges we face at a local level. These findings are shared with our members, affiliated Town Chambers in Dorset and key stakeholders such as local authorities and the Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership. The survey results form a barometer of how businesses are feeling, providing grassroots data and identifying business priorities at a local and national level.

Results are published each quarter and reported at both a national and local level. The local report for Dorset specifically reports the responses for Dorset only, giving a clear view of issues and priorities for Dorset businesses. Please note the local report will only be published when we have a minimum of 50 completed surveys.
