Apply for the Kickstart Scheme through Dorset Chamber

A message from Dorset Chamber

Dear Colleague,

I trust you are well and your returning to work plans are coming together.

The Kickstart Scheme is a £2 billion fund to create hundreds of thousands of high quality 6-month work placements for young people aged 16-24. Dorset Chamber is working alongside the British Chambers of Commerce and is a recognised intermediary in helping businesses access the scheme.

Businesses of all sizes looking to create quality jobs for young people can now apply to create new 6-month job placements for young people who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment. The job placements should support the participants to develop the skills and experience they need to find work after completing the scheme.

The Government will fund 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours per week, including employer National Insurance and minimum automatic enrolment contributions. In addition, businesses taking on a Kickstart candidate can apply for £1,500 per job placement available for setup costs and work readiness training such as life skills and employability support.

If your organisation is creating fewer than 30 Kickstart job placements, you may apply through an intermediary such as Dorset Chamber. There is no charge and you do not need to be a Dorset Chamber member. We can assist you in accessing the Kickstart scheme to provide opportunities for 16-24 year olds and advise you on the next steps.

To register for the scheme please click here to provide us with the required details.

Upon receipt of your e-mail a member of our team will contact you.

Best wishes,

Ian Girling
