Dorset Careers Hub joins the dots between school careers guidance and local businesses, with the aim of improving the careers provision across the county.
Funded by Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and The Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC) in partnership with BCP Council and Dorset Council, our role is to help young people in Dorset progress into promising careers and fulfil their potential.
Collaboration is key. We take pride in the extremely close working relationships we have with our councils, schools, colleges, university network and business community across the county. Our Enterprise Coordinators work closely with Careers Leaders to achieve the national careers education quality standards – The Gatsby Benchmarks.
Through a range of local market & skills research, events and initiatives, including our Enterprise Advisers Network, we share information, resources and best practice, ideas and inspiration, which leads to a broader offering and the ability to leverage maximum support for our young people and those guiding and influencing them.
All Saints Academy are looking for employers from a variety of sectors that are able to volunteer some time on April 7th to conduct mock interviews with Yr10 students and help inspire them with future careers in the following sectors;
*Hair & Beauty
We often run many activities and events in the area and having real-life professionals from industry, and local, has a positive impact on our young people looking to progress in their careers and also supports businesses with their future talent pipeline as the skills gap is expanding and the Future of Work is ever changing.
We work closely with Dorset Chamber of Commerce including local chambers to link businesses with schools as much as possible.
