New Chamber member MKM BUILDING SUPPLIES will occupy last unit at Link Park, Weymouth
MKM Building Supplies is the UK’s largest independent builders’ merchant, with over 60 branches across England and Scotland. MKM are welcomed as new members to the Chamber and will open in August at Link Park Weymouth where it will occupy the last remaining unit at Link Park and provide 18 new jobs.
The first unit to open at Link Park in 2012 was Screwfix and since then over 24 businesses have opened their doors to both trade and the public. MKM Building Supplies offer building, timber, plumbing supplies, kitchens, bathrooms, tools, electricals, tiles and many other items.
MKM hold high levels of stock on-site to ensure both customers in the building trade and the general public can get what they need, when they need it. MKM offer a reliable local delivery service to the local area. The unit at Link Park will have dedicated customer parking spaces with separate access area to the yard.
MKM is a northern based company which was established in 1995 by David Kilburn and Peter Murray. The vision for the organisation was to offer unprecedented levels of service by building excellent relationships with customers and suppliers. MKM moved into the first purpose-built site in 1997 and soon realised that there was room for expansion. Since then the company has opened 60 outlets with the nearest one to Weymouth being in Honiton with a new branch due to open in July 2019 in Yeovil. MKM will celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2020.
