Partnership Bulletin – August 2020
Welcome to our bulletin for SafeWise partners, funders and supporters. Thank you for your involvement and support for SafeWise in whatever form it takes. Any questions? Email: info@safewise.org

Thank you… a message from our chief executive Rob Hattersley
“I hope that you and your colleagues, as well as everyone close to you, are keeping safe and well during the current pandemic.

In common with many other organisations, these are very challenging times for SafeWise. Right now we want to say thank you to all the funders, partners and sponsors that support us, we know many of you have your own challenges to deal with – financial or otherwise.

The COVID-19 pandemic has meant SafeWise has had to adapt and our new operating model aims to allow the charity to survive and grow, ultimately bringing an enhanced offer and national reach.

More on this follows below, plus details of our exciting new Junior Safety Inspector virtual tour, and some more good news about amazing support we’ve received recently. I’d particularly like to extend a warm welcome to our new Silver partners SGN. Thank you to all our new and valued existing partners as we embark upon the next exciting stage of the SafeWise journey together.”

Explore our brand new virtual learning village
Check out our virtual Junior Safety Inspector Family Tour. Explore the learning village and complete a quiz as you go before downloading your certificate and discovering fun bonus material. Please pass it on to your colleagues, friends and family to have a go too.

The Junior Safety Inspector Tour is very much a first step as we go on to develop more digital resources and virtual reality to complement enhanced in-centre programmes. The new tour has been developed in conjunction with our web agency Digital Storm and funded by a generous grant from Talbot Village Trust.

We’d like to gather feedback about the online family tour too, so please use the survey to pass back comments to help us develop more resources in the future. Enjoy the tour!

Thank you to Talbot Village Trust for their generous grant to help us make the Junior Safety Inspector virtual tour a reality. We’d also like to thank all our other sponsors and partners that continue to support SafeWise during the ongoing pandemic.

A new way of working for SafeWise
The challenging economic situation, alongside the impact and uncertainty brought about by COVID-19, has meant SafeWise has needed to make some difficult choices in order to survive, flourish and grow.

A new operating model agreed by trustees will see SafeWise operate only one centre, in Bournemouth, to serve all Dorset and South Wiltshire, and move to a three strand delivery model of digital, outreach and centre-based experiences for its skills for life programmes.

This allows the charity to grow sustainably and deliver an enhanced offer for audiences, partners and other stakeholders to develop national reach and influence.
We would like to thank all our visitors, sponsors and partners – past and present – for their support and invite you to join us on the next stage of the SafeWise journey. Find out more.

A bit more good news
Thank you to…
• Bronze sponsor IT365 who have expertly handled our migration to Microsoft 365 and Teams recently. This will make our way of working much easier, especially with more home and remote working set to continue for some time.
• Battens Charitable Trust which has donated £250 to help SafeWise continue on its digital journey.

With special thanks to our core partners

…and many others who give advice, contacts and help in kind – thank you!
