WPCC member Sean Cooper of Weyfish was delighted to receive a visit from two MP’s, said Sean “We were delighted to be approached by the Cabinet Office to host a visit by the Leader of the House of Commons Jacob Rees-Mogg & our local MP Richard Drax to Weyfish yesterday. They were keen to understand our approach to trading during the coronavirus crisis and to learn how we expanded to serve the local community. We explained that we’ve developed our kitchen, invested in an electric delivery vehicle and are developing an ecommerce website thanks to government grants.
We explained this investment has meant we’ve been able to create a significant number of local jobs, our team has grown from 2 to 14 this year. Through our delivery service, we’ve been ready to serve more customers throughout the south Dorset area, which has meant we can support the local fisher community. Weymouth’s historic fleet of day boats have been able to stay afloat and land their catch to Weyfish.
So we want to say a huge thank you to you, our loyal customers who have supported us throughout the crisis. You’ve made all the success this year possible and proved that there really is nothing better to serve up than fresh, sustainably-sourced Dorset seafood.
