Weldmar looks to new ways to raise money and keep going.

A message from WPCC member Fiona Hansford of Weldmar, “What is keeping me focussed at the moment is the huge impact that this is all having on both our services and our income. Not only have we had to make changes to ensure that covid-19 stays out of the hospice but we have we had to close all of our 26 retail sites, we have had to cancel or postpone some of our major fundraising events. We estimate that this will lose us around £1m in income over the next 12 weeks. We need to continue to providing our vital services to patients in Dorset and so we will be adapting our way of fundraising over the coming weeks and trying to focus on the things we can offer virtually.

You will find below some of the news articles we have recently put out about our current situation and how you can help. Please do get in touch if you can help us out but even if you can’t, do know that my email inbox is always open if you want to reach out – I know many of you are also working at home and adapting to huge changes.”

We’ve created several ideas and virtual fundraising options, which you can participate in anytime over the coming months

Some of these can be done from the comfort of your own home, and others will allow you the continue getting fresh air whilst helping us to continue our care right in your community.
